Currently under development, Five Degrees West is based in Royal Buildings in the heart of the seaside village of Tighnabruaich. It occupies a Victorian property built in the late 1860's and over the years has been home to many different businesses including bakery, butcher, haberdashery and shoemaker.

The building which more recently operated as the Cranachan shop and tearoom is undergoing a comprehensive programme of refurbishment to create a venue for outdoor activity, sports, entertainment and retail.

The building has a beautifully proportioned interior and many original and new features including wood burning stoves, cast iron pillars and tongue and groove panelling. The renovation, due for completion in 2018, will incorporate these features to create a comfortable and stylish environment, including a large outside decking area with stunning views over the Kyles of Bute.

Currently the Five West development is home to the Kyles Rowing Club.

Formed in late 2011 the Club has built two St Ayles Skiffs, and has a very active membership, rowing throughout the the year.

The first regatta hosted by the Club was 1st July 2013, timed to coincide with the visit of some thirty stunning classic boats to the area as part of the 2013 Fife Regatta..

Please contact Ken Coley for more details about about Club activities including rowing for fun or competition, club and regatta organisation, boat building and maintenance, and club training and fitness activities.
